Earthworm Jim was originally a video game developed by Shint Entertainment for the Sega Genesis/MD and later ported to other consoles. It was received with such delight that Warner Brothers made a bought the rights to make it a cartoon for children.
The cartoon itself is about the adventures of Earthworm Jim himself, a regular earthworm who found himself the owner of an "Ultra-high-tech-indestructible-super-space-suit", when it was dropped from Space during a a space fight, by the evil "Queen Pulsating, Bloated, Festering, Sweaty, Pus-filled, Malformed, Slug-for-a-Butt"'s forces.
